These documents belonged to Cornelis Dorsman (1883-1976). They were donated to the Instituut-Lorentz by his great-grandson Jan Ritsema van Eck, in January 2021. Cornelis Dorsman received a Ph.D. in Amsterdam in 1908, with J.D. van der Waals as promotor. He then joined the group of H. Kamerlingh Onnes in Leiden. He contributed to the discovery of superconductivity in 1911 (he was responsible for the thermal measurements). He left the University shortly afterwards, becoming director of the "Levensverzekeringsmaatschappij van het Nederlands Onderwijzers Genootschap". Dorsman was present at the celebration of C.A. Crommelin in 1910, who would later found the Museum Boerhaave. That document has been transferred to the museum collection. Carlo Beenakker
