The Instituut-Lorentz is at the second floor of the Oort building (slanted by 7o, next to a tall building covered with black panels).
How to get there:
Take a train to Leiden Central
Station (20 minutes from
Amsterdam Schiphol airport).
From the train station, you can either walk along the
Rijnsburgerweg and the Wassenaarseweg (20 minutes), use a rental bike (OV-fiets),
take a taxi, or take bus number 37 to Katwijk
(get out at the stop "Corpus", just before a sharp curve in the
Wassenaarseweg), or number 38 to Katwijk (get out at "Universiteitsterrein"), or 43 to Den Haag (get out at
"Bio Science Park Oost").
Each bus ride takes less than 10 minutes, leaving the station twice
an hour.
Here is a detailed map of our
neighborhood, and here is a map of downtown Leiden
(connected to the detailed map in the upper left hand corner). Some nearby hotels are on this map.
By car: The Oort building can be approached either from the Wassenaarseweg or from the Plesmanlaan. Parking from Wassenaarseweg is on the Max Planckweg behind the low building with the tall white chimney. From Plesmanlaan you can park at the main entrance on the Einsteinweg, in between the auditorium (round lecture hall with red roof) and a square pond. Please ask your host in advance to arrange access as a visitor and then use the intercom to open the barrier.
